Alex is Urbacity’s founder. With a background in real estate and project management, he brings more than 20 years’ experience managing young companies in the Ottawa area. As our leader, he both establishes the strategic direction for the company and oversees daily operations. He also cultivates a positive business culture, supporting and encouraging the talent and skills of team members to foster an environment for them that leads to successful projects for our clients.

Often the client’s first point of contact at Urbacity, Josh is responsible for overseeing all aspects of our projects, including the construction crew and quality of workmanship. His background is civil engineering and he worked for several years as a site superintendent for various local construction companies. He has also been a project manager and contributed to many large-scale projects across Ottawa, including the Innovation Centre at Bayview Yards, Vimy Memorial Bridge, TD place and others you have most likely visited. Along with building homes and other projects, Josh loves building relationships, whether that’s with a subcontractor or a valued client.

Fred is the money man. A professional accountant and accomplished entrepreneur, Fred has more than 30 years’ experience in a range of positions and industries – from start-ups to multi-national and public companies. Over the years, he’s held a variety of executive level positions, and is the co-founder of three educational software companies, a technology based mineral exploration company, and a sustainable energy consulting firm. His extensive background goes a long way toward keeping us financially running smoothly.

Veronica has an eclectic yet complementary background that has armed her beautifully to understand and execute a myriad of design ideas, philosophies and practical applications. She boasts an international exposure to design, having spent time in the United States, Venezuela and Argentina, where she earned her interior design degree. She has added to her knowledge through her time as a Realtor and by studying Interactive Media Management at Algonquin College. Veronica’s passion is designing residential spaces, along with commercial and office environments, including a wide knowledge in the design of micro suites and co-living spaces.

Brendan is a Licensed General Carpenter who brings over a decade of experience to Urbacity. Beginning his career framing for the residential and custom home sector, Brendan soon found his groove working for a custom cabinetry company, where he gained experience manufacturing and installing cabinets, countertops, and bar tops. While there he refined his carpentry skills and gained an array of technical abilities that he continues to leverage on the job today, including a distinctive knowledge of the Ontario Building Code.
